We Are Looking for a Regional Director of Pharmaceutical Business at Nelt Group

Nelt Group, one of the leading distribution and logistics systems in Southeast Europe, is entering its next phase of growth in the pharmaceutical space. We are looking for a Regional Director of Pharmaceutical Business to lead, scale, and transform our pharma division across Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Kosovo.

This is a high-impact leadership role with full regional P&L ownership, direct exposure to the CEO and Executive Board, and a mandate to accelerate growth, strengthen principal partnerships, and expand our portfolio, with a clear ambition to significantly scale the pharmaceutical business across the region over the next 3–5 years.

 

The role requires strong matrix leadership, regional ownership of the pharmaceutical business

with close alignment and partnership with GMs as local entities business owners. Working closely with the CEO and Executive Board, you will play a pivotal role in aligning cross-functional and cross-market priorities, ensuring the pharmaceutical division operates as a fully integrated regional platform.

You will operate as a business leader with end-to-end accountability, combining strategic leadership with operational execution across a complex, multi-market environment.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Own and drive regional pharma P&L performance, delivering sustainable growth, margin expansion, and improved capital efficiency
  • Build, lead, and continuously upskill a high-performing regional pharmaceutical organization, elevating capabilities across sales and marketing, regulatory, and operational functions, while building the foundation for next-generation pharma models, including market access and advanced, segment-specific commercial approaches
  • Drive alignment between the pharma organization and market entities, working closely with General Managers to balance local market priorities with regional objectives
  • Navigate and lead within a complex matrix organization, ensuring effective collaboration across markets, functions, and leadership layers
  • Influence senior stakeholders without direct authority (GMs, functional leaders, and Group leadership) to deliver aligned business outcomes
  • Act as a central integration point between principals, regional teams, and local organizations, balancing global partner expectations with local execution realities
  • Accelerate portfolio growth through new partnerships, product launches, and market expansion
  • Strengthen and scale existing partnerships, positioning Nelt as a preferred regional partner
  • Ensure best in class standards across compliance, regulatory affairs, quality, and pharmacovigilance
  • Optimize end-to-end operations, from procurement and supply chain to last-mile delivery across all markets
  • Act as a key ambassador of Nelt Group, representing the company towards partners, regulators, and the broader healthcare ecosystem

 

What we are looking for:

  • Degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, or related life sciences (advanced qualifications are a plus)
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally across multiple markets
  • Proven experience in building, scaling, and transforming teams and organizational capabilities, ideally in a regional or evolving business context
  • Proven track record in:
    • P&L ownership and business scaling
    • Marketing and sales development and principal partnerships
    • Managing complex regulatory environments
  • Strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders and demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization, balancing functional leadership with strong collaboration with country management
  • Experience in multi-market coordination, ensuring alignment across diverse regulatory and commercial environments
  • Strong strategic, financial, and analytical acumen, with the ability to translate strategy into execution
  • Leadership style built on ownership, resilience, collaboration, and a strong growth mindset
  • Exposure to or understanding of market access and advanced pharma commercial models is a strong advantage
  • Fluent in English
